“So… how’s the job search going?”
Honestly, this question should come with a shot of tequila.


But I guess that’s what happens when you put your job search out there on LinkedIn 🫣. Fair enough. 

Still, I’m annoyed nevertheless, because I just started the journey, and we all know job searches at our level aren’t exactly Amazon Prime deliveries. They take time. A lot of time.


And no, there’s no tracking number where you can refresh the page to see: “Your executive role is now out for delivery.”


So instead of groaning every time someone asks, I’m learning to play with it (I try!)

Here are three answers I’ve been testing out (feel free to steal them):

  • “It’s like a Netflix series: great plot, just waiting for the next episode.”
  • “I’m in my ‘research and development’ era.”
  • “Let’s just say I’m planting seeds… and occasionally yelling at the soil.” 🌱

The point is: I put my search out there because I believe in visibility and serendipity. But let’s not kid ourselves – I don’t owe anyone pipeline updates or a daily progress report (except for my harshest critic – me😉).


And more importantly, I´m still me…nothing really has changed.

So let me throw this back to you:
