Let’s talk about menopause (without the horror movie soundtrack)

If you believe most articles about menopause, life after 45 is basically a horror movie.
Depressed. Foggy-brained. Unemployable.

Honestly? I’m not in (peri)menopause yet. But reading all that makes me feel like I should start writing my will.

What message are we sending to fellow women and the world when we paint such a horror scenario? Is that really helpful or do we more harm than good with the current narrative?

Here’s the thing for us: our brains actually believe what we feed them.

If the only narrative is misery, misery is what women will expect. And then? Surprise, that’s what we’ll experience.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t talk openly about hormonal changes. We absolutely should.
But why does the conversation always stop at “life is over now”?

Where are the stories about women thriving at this stage? About building, leading, reinventing?

Midlife doesn’t have to be a cliff. It can be a launchpad.

So I’m curious: what do you think? Is today’s menopause conversation raising awareness… or just marketing fear in a fancy package?
