Why are men the only ones talking about coaching?

Why are men the only ones talking about coaching_Dr. Kerstin Brehm_The Friday Fix Newsletter

Lately, at event after event, I’ve found myself in the same conversation – with men.
They tell me how working with a coach helped them land the right role, ask for more, navigate politics, get promoted.

They’re not shy about it.
They don’t downplay it.
They talk about it like it’s obvious, because to them, it is.
Of course you’d invest in someone who helps you get ahead.

And I couldn’t help but think:
Where are the women in this conversation?

Are we too proud? Too private? Too conditioned to go it alone?
Or are we just not talking about the support we have?

Because I’ll say this:
The ones who rise aren’t always the smartest.
They’re the ones who stopped trying to do it all solo.

Leadership isn’t about having all the answers.
It’s about knowing when to ask better questions and who to ask them to.

So if you’re serious about your next step…
maybe it’s time to stop white-knuckling your way through it.

See you next week,
Dr. Kerstin
